Tempo, site specific installation at ArtSPACE New Haven
lithographs on tracing paper, wood
The site was meant to refer to the community and offered a floor to ceiling window to the street. For this installation, the front pages of the New Haven Register were collected from the entire year 2004. The pages were then copied by photo-lithography onto thin sheets of tissue, which allowed the content to be seen from front and back as the light from the window shone through. During that year, the governor of Connecticut was indicted for fraud and the presidential election took place. As the pages were arranged chronologically, their placement and overlap presented a narrative of denial, hope and conclusion, embedded in a sea of headlines that bore witness to crimes, triumphs, and mundane events transported by inclusion in the newspaper.
